Citomerx Timing Chain Tensioner DESCRIPTION: The timing chain tensioner always rests against the timing chain guide thanks to two preloaded springs. The additional oil pressure assists the chain tensioner in tightening the chain. The holes in the piston head serve to lubricate the piston, release excess pressure from the gear pump, and vent the piston. Before inserting the tensioner, the piston must be preloaded. To do this, the installed clamp must be compressed, allowing the piston to be pushed freely into the housing.
