Citomerx timing chain tensioner
DESCRIPTION:
The timing chain tensioner, due to the two preloaded springs, is always in contact with the timing chain bar. The additional oil pressure, assists the chain tensioner in tightening the chain. The holes in the head of the piston are used to lubricate it, to release the excess pressure of the gear pump and to vent the piston. Before inserting the tensioner, the piston must be pretensioned. To do this, the installed clamp must be compressed, thus pushing the piston freely into the housing.
