BESCHREIBUNG:
Die Zündkerze besteht aus einem Metallkern, der in einem keramischen Isolator untergebracht ist. Dieser Metallkern ist wiederum von einem Metallmantel umgeben. Der Metallmantel besteht aus einem Gewinde, das in den Zylinderkopf gedreht wird. Bei dieser Grundkonstruktion der Zündkerze gab es in den letzten 50 Jahren kaum eine Veränderung.
Nach der Gründung im Jahr 1936 etablierte sich NGK SPARK PLUGS als Weltmarktführer im Bereich Zündung. Die herausragende Qualität sowie die ständige technische Weiterentwicklung zeichnen diesen Hersteller aus. So ist es kein Wunder, dass in den meisten Zweirädern vom Werk aus NGK Zündkerzen verbaut sind. Eine Strategie zur Verlängerung der Lebensdauer einer Standard-Zündkerze aus Nickel ist die Ausstattung mit zwei Masseelektroden. Bei diesen Zündkerzen springt der Funke immer zur anderen Masseelektrode über. Der Verschleiß wird somit auf beide Masseelektroden verteilt und die Lebensdauer dadurch verlängert.
