Nuremberg Hercules Werke was an essential part of the Nuremberg motorcycle industry. However, motorcycle production did not begin until 1928, 42 years after Carl Marschütz founded the company. Also through the cooperation with Fichtel & Sachs as engine supplier, Hercules established itself in the market segment of light motorcycles up to 200 cm³ and bicycles with auxiliary engine.
