Hercules ist wohl jedem Oldtimer-Zweirad-Besitzer ein wohl bekannter Name. Das Unternehmen wurde 1886 von Carl Marschütz gegründet und stellte bis zum Jahr 1928 Fahrräder her. Erst ab 1928 lohnte sich die Herstellung von leichten Motorrädern unter 200 cccm³ wieder. Seit dieser Zeit verwendeten die Hercules-Werke Fremdmotoren von Fichtel & Sachs.
Mit diesem Kickstarterhebel können diverse Hercules Modelle neu ausgestattet werden. Der Tritt des Fahrers (englisch: Kick) beschleunigt die Kurbelwelle auf die Drehzahl, die zum Anspringen des Motors benötigt wird. Bis ca. 1970 war diese Art des Motorstarts die am weitesten Verbreitete. Dieser Hebel ist klappbar, gebogen und wird durch die Kickstarterwelle mit dem Getriebe verbunden.
