Die Hercules-Werke sind 1886 gegründet worden und stellten seit 1928 leichte Motorräder her. Das Unternehmen gehörte in den 1930er Jahren zu den größten Herstellern der Nürnberger Zweiradindustrie. Verbaut wurden in den Hercules Fahrwerken Motoren von Fichtel & Sachs.
Die Kupplungsnabe wird auf der Getriebevorlegewelle mit Hilfe eines Halbmondes montiert. Mit der Kerbverzahnung stellt die Nabe eine feste Verbindung mit den Kupplungsinnenlamellen her. Passend ist die Nabe für die Sachs Motoren 50/2, 50/3 und 50/4.
