DESCRIPTION:
Cylinder Defect? The cylinders of an internal combustion engine, together with the piston and the cylinder head, form the working and combustion chamber.
Depending on the engine design, they either have direct contact with the cooling water, metallic contact with the engine block or they are cast firmly into the engine block. The choice of material ensures that good heat transfer can take place to the engine block or to the cooling water.
The cylinder wall is wetted with engine oil when the engine is running. This ensures sufficient lubrication of the pistons running up and down in the cylinder and the piston rings.
Together with the piston, the cylinder forms the heart of every vehicle. Without a cylinder, there is no engine!
