Motorcycle and scooter riders especially appreciate the high-quality brake and clutch components (brake discs, brake pads and shoes and clutch discs) of the manufactory founded in the 1950s by Alessandro Barbero. Barbero, starting as a small businessman, used a newly developed friction material for the repair of old brake shoes, which was bonded to the flexible brake pads with a "then revolutionary (...) special adhesive from the USA", which made the previously common fastening by rivets superfluous.
