Mit dem Namen Puch wird nicht nur in Österreich die Zweirad-Produktion verbunden. Weltweit ist Puch eine bekannte Marke für Zweiräder. Gegründet wurde das Unternehmen 1889 von Johann Puch. Im Laufe des 20. Jahrhunderts fusionierte es mit diversen anderen Unternehmen und wurde zur Steyr-Daimler-Puch AG. Diese produzierte 1938 ihre erstes Motorfahrrad die Steyriette.
