Did you know that the name of the traditional Zündapp brand is made up of two separate abbreviations? Namely, Zünd- for detonator and -app for apparatus, which stands for Zünder- und Apparatebau-Gesellshaft m.b.H. The company is of course better known as Zündapp-Werke GmbH. From 1921, motorcycles were manufactured in Nuremberg.

Here you will find a speedo drive repair kit for your Zündapp. The kit contains a threaded socket, a speedometer sprocket and a speedometer wheel. The speedo wheel is put directly on the axle of the front wheel and is located inside the wheel hub. The speedometer pinion is located in the brake shield and absorbs the rotation of the wheel via a helical gearing. The pinion is connected to the speedometer shaft via the threaded connection, which transmits the rotary movement to the speedometer.
