XR chains have X-rings that prevent the lubricant from leaking. Due to the four sealing points (against more than two in an O-ring chain) a better sealing of the lubricant is achieved.
As a result, the friction of the chain is considerably reduced, the chain is no longer stressed by high temperatures and therefore has a longer service life.
