Product information about Wagner motorcycle tank sealing set for up to 80 litre tanks
Rust out, resin in. That's how you get the tank looking good.
Lubricants of all kinds, including oils, oil additives and greases, etc. are available from Wagner Spezialschmierstoffe, since 1994 the primeval rock of lubricant manufacturers in the classic car and youngtimer sector with its own production exclusively in Germany.
Effective protection of metal surfaces by the dark grey layer (phosphating) which Wagner rust converter leaves on iron and steel. The protective effect can be permanently maintained by appropriate final protective treatment with coating plastic, paint, resin, varnish, tar, wax, tin or zinc. Wagner's one-component tank sealant is characterised by a permanent minimum of flexibility and no embrittlement as with most two-component sealants.
Effective protection of metal surfaces by the dark grey layer (phosphating) which Wagner rust converter leaves on iron and steel. Reliable adhesion of the internal coating with WAGNER one-component resin even in the event of subsequent damage to the tank due to vibration or minor accidents.
Rust Remover Rust Converter:
TECHNICAL DATA:
- highly effective rust remover and rust converter
- Made in Germany, developed and manufactured in Germany
- Ready to use and very easy to apply
- stops corrosion immediately
- very low viscosity, penetrates into all pores
- mechanical derusting or sandblasting completely dented
- Leaves a dull grey rust protection layer (phosphating)
- afterwards directly paintable (without primer)
APPLICATION:
The liquid should be left on the surfaces for 1-2 days. Wet again and again if necessary. If necessary, repeat the treatment. Alternatively, a cloth can be soaked or a paste can be mixed with wood flour or wood grinding dust and water, which adheres to the surface to be derusted. Or an immersion bath can be prepared. Subsequent cleaning with brake cleaner or acetone is necessary if there is a high proportion of rust removed. After drying of the treated surfaces, the final protective treatment can be carried out directly.
WAGNER rust converters do not attack aluminium or non-ferrous metals. Also soft or hard solder are not affected in any way. WAGNER Rust Converter is neutral to paint and rubber when used according to instructions. However, at high concentrations, in long-term baths or with pure application, some paints and rubber types can be dissolved if drops or splashes are not neutralized with water and washed off in time. WAGNER Rust Converter works reliably at temperatures as low as 0° Celsius and does not need to be heated up separately.
DOSING:
Do not use Rust Converter alone. Dilute with water in a ratio of 1:1 or 1:2 before applying to the surfaces to be treated. WAGNER Rust Converter works reliably even with a mixing ratio of 1:60 (1 part Rust Converter, 60 parts water).
WAGNER Rust Converter is easy to use, leaves no stains and can be disposed of diluted via the sewage system.
Tank sealing resin:
TECHNICAL DATA:
- solvent-containing one-component polyurethane resin
- Made in Germany, developed and manufactured in Germany
- forms a petrol and acid-resistant long-term coating
- permanently flexible, seals small leaks (folds, welded seams, small holes
- slow curing, therefore very easy to process
- 100% ethanol resistant, suitable for leaded and unleaded fuel
APPLICATION:
Empty used tanks, knock out coarse debris and blow out. Treat rust (easiest with the Wagner rust converter). Then fill the necessary amount of transparent WAGNER single-component resin into the tank, depending on the tank size, and shake it vigorously, then carefully swivel it out. The resin should completely wet all inner walls. After the first layer has dried and is no longer sticky (after approx. 12 - 24 hours), a second layer can be applied. After about 7 to 8 days the coating is completely cured. Even new tanks with smooth inner surfaces can be sealed with WAGNER single-component tank sealant, roughening is not necessary.
WAGNER one-component tank sealing resin seals tank interiors made of steel (also alloys), aluminium, stainless steel, copper, brass and plastics such as carbon, GFK, Kevlar, polyester or vinyl ester. The WAGNER one-component resin cannot be used for tanks made of polyethylene or polypropylene, as these materials cannot be permanently coated.
DOSING:
175 ml are sufficient for the internal tank treatment of up to 10 litres tank capacity
250 ml are sufficient for the internal tank treatment of up to 30 litres tank capacity
500 ml are sufficient for the internal treatment of up to 80 litres of tank capacity (60 litres for tanks with baffles)
SCOPE OF DELIVERY:
- 1x 1000 ml + 1x 250 ml (= 1250 ml) WAGNER rust converter
- 1x 500 ml WAGNER single component resin for tank sealing
